ETL92: OT Request Accessibility Problem - OT Messages Not Read By JAWS

(Doc ID 2415231.1)

Last updated on JUNE 25, 2018

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Time and Labor - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 9.2 version, Time Reporting

It appears when in accessibility mode, Overtime Messages will be skipped over by JAWS reader because it appears below the View Options section. For visually impaired users, it should be displayed in a message box or below a heading as ‘Overtime Message.’

Step to Recreate:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Employee logs in in Accessibility mode.
2. Employee navigates to Overtime Request page.
3. Note there is no focus on the message, so JAWS is not reading it. User is pointing out for Development that this message needs to be displayed in a message box or heading so it can be read by JAWS reader for visually impaired user. Otherwise it will be skipped over.
