Symptoms

On : 9.2 version, Job / Personal Information

While testing accessibility using JAW V2018, we have found issues with the Fluid Desktop and Mobile for the Ethnic Group from the Personal Details tile.

  1. The Ethnic Group page is displayed and begins to be read by the screen reader. When it is displayed, all the information is placed in a label for a button that surrounds all the ethnic group details information. This is causing confusion and is hard to use. When someone first hears the two explanation links read before the rest of the data is read. Employee should be able to navigate among the fields and have it all read as expected. They have to go into the edit mode - Edit button at the top to be able to read that information.
  2. The Edit button is not labeled and only is read as "Edit button." It need to be read as "Ethnic Groups Edit Button"
  3. When you are editing the Ethnic Groups information, some of the controls do not read as expected. The checkboxes below What is Your Race are merely read as checkbox with its label, e.g. Asian checkbox - But one does not know whether it is checked ot not. It needs to read as "Checkbox label checked or not checked.
  4. The two links on the page are unclear as they only as Explain Question 1 or 2 It needs to say e.g. Explain What is your race link.
  5. And it is not clear that the controls - radio buttons and checkboxes are associated with the questions above them - Best practices is to include Question along with controls below them.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. On Moble Device access the Personal Details Menu.
2. Click on Ehnic groups.
3. The employee hears Explain Question 1, Explain Question 2 first.
4. Select the Edit Button, and note it is not labeled and only is read as "Edit button."  It need to be read as "Ethnic Groups Edit Button"
5. Select the checkboxes for each of the available races, note they read as checkbox with its label, e.g. Asian checkbox. User does not know whether it is checked ot not. It needs to read as "Checkbox label checked or not checked.
6. Select Explain Question Links, note it is not clear what they are explaining. It needs to say e.g. Explain What is your race link.
7. As users select questions, and radio buttons or checkboxes, it is not clear that the controls-- radio buttons and checkboxes are associated with the questions above them. Best practices is to include Question along with controls below them.
