E-PORTAL: Page unresponsive through Unified Navigation over HTTPS

On PeopleTools 8.56:
Unified Navigation is not opening links to the content provider over SSL. The behavior works with no problems over HTTP. However, when testing over HTTPS the page is unresponsive, showing a blank white page with only the portal header displayed.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to iHub over HTTPS
2. Navigate to content provider through the Unified Navigation folder
3. Page does not load and is unresponsive. Only the portal header is visible. The rest of the page is blank/white.
