Using Fluid Voucher approvals. As a matter of approving a voucher, the employee clicks on each Voucher Line within a voucher to inspect it. Vouchers can easily have 50+ lines as a matter of business.
The user is only allowed to view as many lines as are equal to the value of Number of States Supported. If they go over that number, when they try to approve the voucher they will get an error that the Page no longer is available. It is unreasonable to set this value to > 50 when the recommendation is that it should be 1 or 2. It is also not known how many lines might be on a voucher, so it is impossible to pick a number to set this value to (unless we went excessively large).
On the Web Profile there is a field called "Number of States Supported". This set at 2 (the default setting is 5). Per Doc ID 1393443.1 : "2) Number of States Supported (aka "Max Saves States"): The setting was designed to handle the browser's "back" functionality in PeopleTools 8.49 and older versions. Since the advent of AJAX and Partial Page Refresh in 8.50 and later, this button is no longer supported as means to navigate the system. As a result, the "Number of States Supported" setting no longer needs to be so high. We recommend setting it back to 1 or 2, so that there is SOME functionality preserved should a user use the back button, but dramatically reduce the storage impact on the heap."
