E-PIA/SEC: How to Display Different Failed Login Error Message Based on Role? (Doc ID 2433423.1)

Last updated on JULY 27, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.53 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Show different error messages for users on sign-in page in PeopleSoft depending on their security roles and based on particular business logic.

For example, here will be treated the student role.

The following campus solution application scenario that assumes a particular set of students (graduates ones) will be denied to access PeopleSoft CS Application if they didn't fill in a particular survey. In that scenario the security administrator will assign a dedicated dummy role called 'ADT_STUDENTLIST' using dynamic roles queries to this particular set of OPRIDs. Based on this business requirement, all these users will be locked and receive a custom error message in the signon page whenever they will try to sign in while the rest of other users eventually having the account locked will not receive that custom message (they will get instead the standard security message on signon page).
