When changing Employee name through Employee Self Service (ESS), Results in Error

The Field name has been ised as a parameter of the specified method. It is not valid for the current object. Use the PeopleCode Debugger or a PeopleCode trace to determine the point of the error, and correct the program.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Employee Self Service > Personal Details > Name
2. Click on Name to Change
3. Receive Error
