Symptoms

After applying 8.55.25 Tools patch, when attempting to create an application server domain, the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
ERROR: Cannot open Windows Registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\KEY_OraDB12Home1
for ORACLE_HOME environment variable.

Customer is using SQL Server and DBType in PSADMIN -> Application Server -> Configure this Domain is set to ORACLE by default. This should be MICROSFT by default as customer is using Microsoft SQL Server and chose the same while installing the PeopleTools 8.55.25 patch.
