When amending a lease to an earlier end date after applying the New Accounting standard for Lease, the following error was returned, "Straightline Schedule end date should not be after Lease End Date. (18157,12114)".
The customer installed the following patch:
Release 9.2 - Bug 28264669 - ELA: STRAIGHTLINE AMOUNT IS INCORRECT AFTER AMENDMENT WITH PAST TRANSACTION DATE
After installing the patch, the system began logging the customer out of PIA when attempting to activate the amendment.
The expectation is that the amendment will be activated successfully and the PIA session will not be ended abruptly.
This issue can be replicated by installing PUM 28 and performing the following steps:
1.Create lease with start date as 1/1/2018 and end date as 5/31/2020
2.Add an asset
3.Add Base rent of $100 and escalation from 1/1/2019 for $100 and 1/1/2020
4.Allocate the payments to the asset and Review the asset
5.Activate the lease
6.Run Manage Transaction generator
7.Run Generate straight line schedule.
8.Note the straight line amount is evenly distributed across 29 periods
9.Run Depreciation calculation and Create accounting entry process
10.Run Depreciation close process for year 2018 and period 6
11.Note the straight line schedule status is processed for first 6 periods
12.Make an Amendment with accounting date as 6/1/2018 and transaction date as
13.Add an Escalation from 4/1/2018 for $50
14.Allocate the payment to the asset
15.Activate the amendment.
16.Run Manage transaction generator
17.Run generate straight line schedule
18.Straight line amount is not properly calculated and distributed across the
remaining periods. The amount on the last period is vastly different than the
amount on other lines.
The users cannot complete a lease amendment.
