E-PORTAL: Page Title Is Not Showing When MessageBox PeopleCode Written In A Component PostBuild/PreBuild Event (Doc ID 2463700.1)

Last updated on APRIL 02, 2019

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.55 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Page title is not showing in the new Unified header in PT 8.56 database when a MessageBox with OK button is set in one of the two events:
Component PostBuild/PreBuild events

However It will appear on first server trip performed by user in the component page or when tink time MessageBox will be used

Steps:
========
1. In Appdesigner add a MessageBox like below in the Prebuild event of the delivered tools TRACE_SQL component

MessageBox(0, "", 0, 0, "Prebuild MessageBox for testing");

2. Navigate to Trace SQL page from PeopleTools > Utilities > Debug and observe the behavior (page Title missing)

Expected is that the Page title to come up properly as it was in a 8.54 database immediately after the component pre- events are executed

Due to this end-users might be annoyed by the missing page title

As workaround: a "think time" MessageBox can be used instead of non "think time" call, and that will make the Page title to apear immediately as user confirms the MessageBox

MessageBox(1, "", 0, 0, "Prebuild MessageBox");
