Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 8.55 and 8.56 version, Portal Technology

When attempting to go the Classic Homepage, after having clicked on the 'New Window' link from any loaded component, the following error occurs.

Page cannot be loaded.
Error message in Firefox: "Hmm. We're having trouble finding that site. We can't connect to the server "

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Login to a PS environment where the "PSHOME" name (site name) is contained elsewhere in the base URL (e.g.: sub-domain name), and the Fluid Homepage has been configured to include the "Classic Home" tile.

URL Example: https://sitename.server.com:20443/psc/sitename/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/NUI_FRAMEWORK.PT_LANDINGPAGE.GBL

2. Navigate to any standard component, such as Job Data, and click the "New Window" link

3. In the new window that is opened, note the instance number added to the site name

URL Example: https://sitename.server.com:20443/psc/sitename_6/EMPLOYEE/HRMS...

4. Click the "Home" link. On the Fluid Homepage, note again that the instance number has been maintained

URL Example: https://sitename.server.com:20443/psc/sitename_6/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/NUI_FRAMEWORK.PT_LANDINGPAGE.GBL

5. Click the 'Classic Home' tile.

    Error: Page is not loaded.

Error message in Firefox: "Hmm. We're having trouble finding that site. We can't connect to the server "

Note on the page displayed that the sub-domain in the URL has been incorrectly replaced by the site name and Instance number:

    URL Example: https://sitename_6.server.com:20443/psc/sitename_6/EMPLOYEE/HRMS...
