ETL92: No Schedule Validation Only Added To Time And Labor Navigation Path And Not MSS Path. (Doc ID 2464275.1)

Last updated on APRIL 29, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Time and Labor - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

It appears a No Schedule error message is triggered after validation to check if the schedule definition exists prior to the schedule assign effective date.

However, this validation only fires when Assign Work Schedule is accessed via Main Menu> Time and Labor> Enroll Time Reporters> Assign Work Schedule.

If same transaction is done via MSS >Time Management>Manage Schedules>Assign Work Schedule , the validation won’t fire and it will simply save the data.

The issue is only replicable if the transaction is done via Main Menu> Time and Labor> Enroll Time Reporters> Assign Work Schedule.

Steps to Recreate:
1. Select an elapsed exception Time Reporter for the test.
2. Create new Schedule Definition - effective date 1/8/2018.
3. On the Assign Schedule Page Navigation: Time and Labor > Enroll Time Reporters > Assign Work Schedule, add a new row effective 1/15/2018 then assign the above new schedule definition to the employee and save.
4. Go back to Schedule Definition Page - Add new effective dated row 1/29/2018 to Inactivate the schedule definition then save.
5. On Schedule Definition Page use Correct History Mode then Delete 01/08/2018 effective dated row using the minus button on right then confirm deletion and save.
6. Check the Page after delete – Note: No Error or warning message displayed to inform user that this schedule is in use and deleting 01/08/2018 could cause issues with employees schedules.
7. Navigate to Assign Work Schedule page using navigation: Time and Labor > Enroll Time Reporters > Assign Work Schedule to bring up the selected employee.
8. Add new effective dated row as of 02/05/2018 to change the employee’s schedule to Use Default Schedule.
9. Now click Save. Note: Error message displayed- No Schedule.
10. Navigate to Assign Work Schedule page using navigation: MSS > Time Management >  Manage Schedule > Assign Work Schedule to bring the selected employee.
11. Add new effective dated row as of 02/05/2018 to change the employee schedule to Use Default Schedule then Save.  Note: No error triggered and user is able to save even though the schedule is no longer active as of 1/29/2018.
