E-SEC: Users Without the Peopletools "SVG ADMINISTRATOR" Role Can Still Add .SVG Images in 8.57 (Doc ID 2465656.1)

Last updated on JULY 22, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.57 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Users that do not have the PeopleTools SVG Administrator role can still attach .SVG images as long as the image name is in upper case .SVG.
It does not work for users without that role if the image is in lower case e.g : image.svg

As per Peoplebooks documentation : "PeopleTools SVG Administrator – Grants permission to upload SVG images via the rich text editor."
i.e. Users without the stated role should not be able to add .svg images ... (case should not matter)

STEPS
-----------------------
1. Login into the application with tools 8.57 and with a user that does not have the PeopleTools SVG Administrator Role.
2. Attempt to add an svg image that is in lower case e.g test.svg (that will fail) attempt to add an image that is upper cases example: TEST.SVG that will work
