"Career Cannot be Empty" Message Pops Up in Class Search in Campus Mobile (Doc ID 2473683.1)

Symptoms

PROBLEM

Student goes to Class Search and clicks on the Course but a message pops up that "Career cannot be empty". Click on Term, notice that the Career is not default selected. 

Student is only in one Career, it should be defaulted. Per customer, Student is least bothered to setup the default Career in Profile. if the student is only in one career, he/she shouldn't get the message. 

Per CM documentation, In Profile, Campus Mobile uses the defaults to determine which Institution and Career load first when more than one exists for the student. The information needed for the Profile is delivered using 
the User Preferences web service

 

REPLICATION STEPS

-----------------------

1. Open Campus Mobile app 
2. Go to Profile, Notice that the default value of Institution and Career is 
not given. 
3. Go to Classes - Class Search. Click on a Course 
Notice a message pops up 

"Career cannot be empty" 

4. Now, go back to profile and set Institution and Career default values. 
5. Again, go to Classes - Class Search. Click on a Course 
Message appears again 

"Career cannot be empty"
