Express Putaway Creates Inventory Line for Same Item/Location Separate UOMs (Doc ID 2474512.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 15, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise SCM Inventory - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

User used the Express Putaway Screen to put away some items into inventory from Allocation orders. Instead of using the Standard UOM to put them away, it was changed the UOM to the UOP (CA), which PeopleSoft Allowed to do.

Under the Item Balance by Location screen there is now two entries for the item under the same location, however with  multiple Units of Measures.

The system should bounce the quantity and UOM entered on the express putaway screen against the conversion rate table and convert the values to standard unit of measure opposed to creating a second line for that item for the same location.

Now, every time an express putaway or Express Issue is performed for these items, the user is prompted to choose which location wants to pull from; even though it is the same location.

As result, when performing an express putaway for a UOM that differs the Standard UOM, the system must use the conversion rate to putaway the correct amount and append the quantity to the item and location that was selected.

The system should never force two separate lines for the same item with the same location separated by the UOM.
