Cancel Button Disappears after Release of Service Indicator on Modal Window (Doc ID 2478302.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 05, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Campus Community - Version 9.2 and later
PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Student Financials - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Campus Solutions 9.2, when attempting to release a service indicator via View Financial Aid Status page when modal window is enabled, Cancel button disappears and user is unable return to the main page.

Releasing a service indicator from Student Financials, View Customer Accounts experiences the same behaviour.  After releasing the service indicator, the Cancel button should be displayed to allow return to the main page, View Customer Accounts.

Cancel button should be available (similar to non-modal window) after release of Service Indicator that will take user back to Main page (View Financial Aid Status page). This only happens with Modal windows and does not occur with non-modal windows.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Enable Modal Windows per document "E-PIA: PT8.52x - How to Enable Modal Window Property via Web Profile Custom Properties (Doc ID 1390037.1)";
  2. Navigate to Financial Aid, View Financial Aid Status;
  3. Select a student with a Service Indicator. Click on the Service Indicator icon;
  4. A modal window with the list of service indicators pops up;
  5. Click on a service indicator code.  Another modal window opens;
  6. Click on the Release button;
  7. A third window opens asking to confirm release of Service Indicator;
  8. Click OK;
  9. All the modal windows close but Cancel button is not available that takes user back to Main page (View Financial Aid Status page).

    For Student Financials, replication steps are:
  10. Navigate to Student Financials, View Customer Accounts;
  11. Select an emplid with a pre-existing negative service indicator;
  12. Click on the red circle icon;
  13. Click on the + beside ‘Add Service Indicator’';
  14. Add a new negative service indicator (REF) completing the setup as required;
  15. Click Apply;
  16. Click OK;
  17. Click Cancel;
  18. Control is returned to View Customer Accounts;
  19. Click on the red circle icon again;
  20. Select the REF service indicator again;
  21. Click on the Release button;
  22. 'Are you sure you want to release this service indicator' is displayed.  Select OK;
  23. Control returns to the Manage Indicator Page;
  24. Return to Search is the only option available;
  25. Selecting Return to Search returns to the Manage Service Indicator page.
