EAM: DEPRECIATION/PDP CALCULATION INCORRECT FOR MULTIPLE ADD ROWS, SAME CF SET (Doc ID 2483071.1)

Last updated on JULY 22, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Asset Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Asset depreciation and prior period depreciation are calculating differently for assets. In some cases, the PDP is calculated based on the sum of all ADD rows. In other cases, the PDP is calculated based on the first ADD row. When resetting these assets, the results do not change per asset.

Expected Results
---------------------
The customer expects that the PDP will be calculated based on the sum of all ADD rows.

Steps
-------------
This issue can be verified by performing the following steps;

1) Add an asset via the Basic ADD row.
2) Add multiple cost rows via the Cost Adjust/Transfer Asset component.
3) Run the depreciation calculation process.

Business Impacts
------------------------
The PDP for some assets is not calculated per expectations. This throws off expected asset depreciation totals for the company.
