EEX9.2: Billing Type Description Allows Only 10 Characters when Selected on Expense Report (Doc ID 2491300.1)

Last updated on JULY 22, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Expenses - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Billing type description allows only 10 characters when selected on expense report.

When creating a billing type on the setup page, the billing type description does allow users to enter a long description (30 characters).

The drop down list for selecting a billing type is also set to 30 characters, so the user can see the entire billing type description. However, once the billing type is selected, the user only sees the first 10 characters.

This issue prohibits users (submitters and approvers) from seeing the billing type in its entirety when viewing the report. This field needs to be expanded to 30 characters.

Replication Steps:
---------------------
1. Go to set up Billing type page and enter description with 30 characters and save it;

2. Create an Expense report and pull billing type;

3. The drop down list for selecting a billing type is also set to 30 characters, so the user can see the entire billing type description;

4. Once you select it (save the report) you can see only the first 10 characters.
