Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Grants - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 9.2 version, Functionality

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Modify End Dates - When attempting to reduce the Project and Activity end date to the same value, the system is unable to reduce the Project End the first attempt and is throwing error/warnign messages like below.

Project End Date 2018-12-31 is before End Date 2019-12-31 for Activity BUD. (13100,336)
The Project End Date cannot be before the End Date for any of its Activities

Ok will give another message. This message below should not be thrown as well. No error messages needs to be thrown in this case.

"(Error saving Component Interface. {PROJECT_GENERAL} (91,37)

An error occurred while saving the Component Interface. The most likely cause is that required fields were uninitialized, or that the business logic enforcement written in PeopleCode returned an error.)"

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
No Error message needs to be thrown in this usecase. Instead of throwing (91,37) the message should be meaningful at all times indicating what was saved and what not.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a Proposal with Start and End date as 01/01/2018 and 12/31/2019
2. Submit the Proposal and Generate an award
3. Using Grants > Awards > Modify End Dates, Search for the award and extend all the end dates activities related to the award, Contract lines, Project lines etc... to say 12/31/2019
4. Using Grants > Awards > Modify End Dates, Search for the award and decrease the end dates activities related to the award, Contract lines, Project lines etc... to say 12/31/2018 again

The system will issue the following message which is not right. The system should be able to save the End dates of both project and activity

Another use case was also fixed as part of the same bug

When a user adds a budget period to the Award Modification record from the Modify End Dates page and saves the change The two error messages below are displayed. When the user clicks through the messages, the budget period is successfully added. The messages confuse end users who think that the budget period addition was not successful.

ERROR

-----------------------

This is an invalid property {GM_AWARD_CI.GM_AWD_MOD(4).CONTRACT_NUM} (91,15)

The property specified is invalid.

This is an invalid property {GM_AWARD_CI.GM_AWD_MOD(4).BUSINESS_UNIT} (91,15)

The property specified is invalid.

STEPS

-----------------------

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Navigate to Grants> Awards> Modify End Dates

2. Open an award and add a new budget period under the Award Modifications section

3. Save the page. The error messages will appear

4. Click OK and note the new budget period is saved on the Award Modifications page.
