E-ES: Elasticsearch 6.1.2 installed as a service, but not able to start it automatically (Doc ID 2504566.1)

Symptoms

Elasticsearch  6.1.2 successfully installed as a  Windows service. It starts manually from DOS Admin mode but fails to start automatically.

The log error from the service start shows-

2019-01-30 07:57:19 Commons Daemon procrun stdout initialized

starts elasticsearch

Option Description

-E <KeyValuePair> Configure a setting

-V, --version Prints elasticsearch version information and exits

-d, --daemonize Starts Elasticsearch in the background

-h, --help show help

-p, --pidfile <Path> Creates a pid file in the specified path on start

-q, --quiet Turns off standard output/error streams logging in console

-s, --silent show minimal output

-v, --verbose show verbose output

ERROR: Positional arguments not allowed, found [start]
