NEW EARNINGS CODE TO TRACK MARKET PAY AMOUNT FOR EMPLOYEES IS NOT WORKING (Doc ID 2510603.1)

Last updated on JULY 21, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Human Resources - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 9.2 version, Workforce Administration
Validation on Market Pay Earnings Configuration

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Configured new custom Earnings code to track Market Pay amount for employees. When Market Pay earnings amount is
entered manually on Workforce Administration > Job Information > HR Processing USF > Compensation tab > Other Pay information
Page > ‘Quoted Annualized Amount’ field, the FEGLI Base Pay amount on Compensation Page is not reflecting the Market Pay
amount.

When user checks and unchecks "Base Benefits Override" check box, FEGLI Base Pay gets updated.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect new MKT Pay EArnings code to get added to FEGLI Base Pay earnings when a new row is inserted into Job data.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Compensation and Earnings > Earnings Table:
Earnings Code = MKT: Market Pay (Custom earnings code)
Steps to replicate PAR Action in HR Processing USF:
2 .Insert a new row for an active employee and enter the following information on Workforce Administration > Job Information >
HR Processing USF > Data Control Page
Action = PAY
Reason Code = MKT (Can use delivered value “OTH” instead of custom MKT)
NOA Code = 894
Authority (1) = ZLM
Click on Compensation Tab
Click on Other Pay Information
3. Enter new Earnings Code ‘MKT’ and enter 100000 (any amount > 0 is fine) into ‘Quoted Annualized Amount’ field.
Click ok on Other Pay Information page:
Compensation page opens. Total Pay displays the Base Pay + Mkt Earnings correctly. But the FEGLI Base Pay is not
updated with Market Pay earnings.
4. As a workaround – Click on the “Benefit Base Override” check box once
Uncheck the “Benefit Base Override” check box. The FEGLI Base Pay Amount is updated to reflect Market Pay Earnings
Amount correctly

BUSINESS IMPACT
