E-Portal: User is kicked out and returned to the logon page when trying to access remote content from Portal (Doc ID 2518665.1)

Symptoms

Upgraded from PT8.55.19 to 8.55.27 for all environments in production

When clicking on a deep link from iHub to HR or FSCM, the user is logged out of the application. No error is received when the user is kicked out. The links were working before applying the PeopleTools update.

 

In a fiddler trace, the following was seen just before the kickout:

https://xxx.com/psp/SITENAME/EMPLOYEE/EMPL/h/?tab=DEFAULT/ptgetremotedata?d=xxx.com&postFunction=postBackHistoryMessage

 

The following was also seen in the appserv.log file:

Error in service HomepageT, CREF with URL can not be found: https://xxx.com/psp/SITENAME/EMPLOYEE/EMPL/?tab=DEFAULT/ptgetremotedata?d=xxx.com


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to iHub
2. Click on a CREF Link (Deep link) to HRMS
3. The user may briefly see the page but is then logged out of the application and returned to the login screen
