EMM: Asset Not Found On Work Order When There Is No Custodial Or Location Info Defined (Doc ID 2518772.1)

On : 9.2 version, Functionality

Asset not found on work order when there is no Custodial or Location info defined

When adding an asset via "define asset operational information" navigation and if the custodial or location info is not defined the asset is not searchable on the Work Order asset grid. This is an issue because not all assets will have this information.
Custodial or Location information should not be a requirement in order to searchable on the work order.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Add 1st asset via Define Asset Operational Info
2. Entered Asset type and save.
3. No Location or Custodial info defined.
4. Create Work Order, click asset grid to look up asset.
5. Enter asset ID “9_7” and click search. Asset does not appear in search.
6. Add Location to the asset
7. Create Work Order, click asset grid to look up asset.
8. Enter 9_7 and click search.
9. Asset appears in search.
10. Removed location.
11. Add custodian info.
12. Create Work Order, click asset grid to look up asset.
13. Enter 9_7 and click search.
14. Asset appears in search.

Not all assets require Location or Custodial information. This is an issue.
