Retiring Of Non-Financial Assets Causes SQL Error When Trying To Save. (Doc ID 2519570.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 12, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Asset Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On page Retire/Reinstate Non-Fin Assets at Asset Management > Asset Transactions > Asset Disposals, when you select a retirement type from the drop down and hit the "Retire" button the status in the upper right hand
corner flips from In Service to Disposed. Then when you hit the "Save" button you receive: "A SQL error occurred. Please consult your system log for details."

There appears to already be a bug for this issue - <Bug 29263555>. However, is there any work-around you can suggest we do in the meantime so users can use this page to dispose of assets?

On page CHILD_ASSETS, the record on subpage ASSET_PC_SBP was changed from 'ASSET' to 'ASSET_FIN_SRCH'. This is where the issue lies. When I switch it back to 'ASSET' I can save the page successfully. Can you recommend this as a work-around or is there a better way?
