E-PORTAL: PT8.56.12 CPU Changed Now URL For Remote Custom Tab Is Generated And Broke The Link (Doc ID 2524428.1)

Last updated on APRIL 04, 2025

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PRTL Interaction Hub - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

PT 8.56.12

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Customer has multiple content providers defined in Interaction Hub, 3 of which are campus portals (non-Fluid) that have Remote Custom Tabs in place to allow employees to navigate to the delivered EMPLOYEE portal (which is Fluid). During testing of the October CPU, it was discovered that these remote custom tabs no longer worked - users were not brought to the EMPLOYEE portal - because the URL behind the remote custom tab had changed drastically. This is the URL for the remote custom tab in Production (where the October CPU has not yet been applied, so it's still on Tools 8.56.09)

https://<site URL>/psp/prod/EMPLOYEE/SA/h/?tab=DEFAULT&pslnkid=CU_RESOURCES_DB&customTab=CU_S201703310930038049702401&IgnoreParamTempl=customTab

This is the URL for the same remote custom tab in one of the DEV systems (that has had the October CPU applied - so running Tools 8.56.12):

https://<site URL>/psp/prod/EMPLOYEE/SA/h/?tab=REMOTEUNIFIEDDASHBOARD&unifieddashboard=y&remotedburl=https://<site URL_1>/psp/prod/EMPLOYEE/SA/h/?tab=DEFAULT&pslnkid=CU_RESOURCES_DB&customTab=CU_S201703310930038049702401&IgnoreParamTempl=customTab

Because of this customer cannot apply the October CPU to Interaction Hub in Production, as it would break navigation for the campus Employees.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
This should be working the way it did before the CPU update. Looks like a regression.
