When performing the Inter Unit Transfer (IUT) transaction via the Mass Transaction Manager, the transfer to assets stop depreciating and are left with positive Net Book Value. The Transfer From assets have been fully depreciated before the IUT takes place. Subsequent to the IUT, the Transfer To assets were all adjusted by adding additional cost. Depreciation fails to run on the new cost row, even though Depreciation processes successfully. When performing the same IUT on the same asset configuration via the online Cost/Adjust/Transfer transaction, the additional cost row depreciates as expected.
The results of the MTM IUT transaction should match the online IUT results exactly. There should be no remaining NBV.
This issue can be replicated by performing the following steps:
1) Add an asset.
2) Perform an IUT via the MTM Tool with trans and accounting dates beyond the end of the transfer from asset's depreciable life.
3) Adjust the cost of the transfer to asset.
4) Review the depreciation for the adjustment.
This is occurring on thousands of active assets, all of which have positive NBV and will need to be corrected.
