E-CA: Change Assistant From Command Line, is it possible to encrypt the password instead of keeping it in Plain Text ? (Doc ID 2538062.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 25, 2019

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.54 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Customer's requirement is to use Change Assistant to deploy their customisations (packages) to environments.

These are packages containing custom objects in from Dev. The packages are created in App Designer using Tools > Create Change Package.

Then deploy these packages to UAT and Prod via a script.

It all works, but the the access ID password and User ID password are stored in plain text in the .ini file. Customer want this to be encrypted.

Tried the encrypted value from PSOPRDEFN but CA didn't like that - I have only had success with plaintext passwords.

How do we securely migrate our own custom packages via change assistant in non interactive / non gui (aka scripted) methodology ?
