Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2019

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Campus Solutions 9.0 or later: when attempting to run Generate Pell Data (FAPPLOUT), records are failing validation with a message related to the student's Ability to Benefit code.

On the Manage Pell Payment component, Pell origination tab, clicking the 'Orig Status' link will show the failed validation rule, and clicking the 'Origination Message' link will show the message code 198, "Incorrect Ability to Benefit Code submitted". The log file for the process that ran will also reference the emplid and may give a slightly different message such as "Invalid Value of Ability to Benefit Code".

The expectation is that the records should pass validation since the ATB records do exist for the students.
