ERE:CATCH UP AMOUNT FIELD ON PAYABLES LEASE PAGE, FOR OPERATING EXPENSE MISSING (Doc ID 2544684.1)

Last updated on MAY 21, 2019

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Lease Administration - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Issue:
-------
Catch Up amount field on Payables Lease page, for Operating Expense details, is missing. Customer business requires this field to process back payment of differences.

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Upon page and code review, seems after IFRS 16 new accounting rules enabled and leases transitioned from Operating to Finance classification, no longer have catch up amount (CATCH_UP_AMT) field visible. In Page Activate and associated Application Package PeopleCode, listed below, the field visible property is being set to false for finance leases.

Page: RE_LS_TRM_SEC, Activate PeopleCode event.

Package: RE_COMPONENTS:LEASE_MANAGEMENT
Name : LeaseTermsHelper
Method : AddCategory

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
We would like some information on how this field and catch up amount logic differs with IFRS 16. Is this field no longer available with finance leases? Is this catch up amount also disabled for finance leases in downstream processes such as lease transaction generator and payments?

REPLICATION STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Apply ASC 842 and IFRS 1 Accounting should be uncheked so catch up menu appears on operation lease
2. Create a simple operation payable lease
3. Use an Operation Expense and use catch up
4. How is this field and catch up amount logic differs with IFRS 16. Is this field no longer available with finance leases? Is this catch up amount also disabled for finance leases in downstream processes such as lease transaction generator and payments?
