Last updated on JULY 02, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.56 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Trying to configure SSO between 2 environments:

  1. One environment using PT8.56 or higher, which requires the CheckTokenID
  2. One environment using a PeopleTools version lower than PT8.56, which did not have the CheckTokenID value

When adding the nodes to the Single Signon Page, it is looking for the new CheckTokenID value and the following message is seen:
Please enter CheckTokenID of this node : "<>" in the Node Definition Page for Single Signon. (48,461)

The CheckToken was generated for the PT8.56 or higher node but this field doesn't exist in lower PeopleTools versions.

is it possible to setup Single Signon to trust nodes between applications that are on different tools versions?

Steps to replicate:

  1. In the environment with the higher PeopleTools version, navigate to: PeopleTools-> Portal-> Configure Unified Navigation
  2. Select the Single Signon Setup tab
  3. Select the Define Trusted Nodes page
  4. Enter the Node for the lower PeopleTools environment
  5. The following message is returned: Please enter CheckTokenID of this node : "<>" in the Node Definition Page for Single Signon. (48,461)

or

  1. In the environment with the higher PeopleTools version, navigate to: PeopleTools-> Security-> Security Objects-> Single Signon
  2. Enter the Node for the lower PeopleTools environment
  3. The following message is returned: Please enter CheckTokenID of this node : "<>" in the Node Definition Page for Single Signon. (48,461)
