E-AG/E-Portal: Exception On GetActivityGuideInstance Method For Activity Guide Instance Creation (Doc ID 2554426.1)

Symptoms

On : 8.55 version, Portal Technology

When attempting to run an Activity Guide, the following error occurs.

ERROR

Exception Occurred: A new Activity Guide Instance cannot be created from the context data. (219,5000)


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:


1. Create an Activity Guide template as "Optimized Guided Sequential". For this replication, the TEMPLATE_ID = TEST002OGS.

Navigation: PeopleTools > Portal > Activity Guide > Manage Templates

 

Properties tab:

- Guide Process Rendering: Optimized Guided Sequential.

- Selected features: Active, Enable Email Notification, Show Notifications, Side panel fixed.

 

Security tab:

- Assigned Privilege 'Administrator' to user VP1.

- Assigned Privilege 'Contributor' to Role PeopleSoft User.

 

Advanced Options tab:

- Using OPRID as the only Context Data.

- Record Name: PSOPRDEFN.

- Field Name: OPRID.

- Type: System Variable.

- Value: %UserId.

- Checked Key Field, Context Visible, Primary.

 

- No Imgage Context Data.

- Using the PS-Delivered PTAI_UTILITIES:InstanceGeneration GetActivityGuideInstance method for Instance Creation

Package: PTAI_UTILITIES

Path: :

ClassID: InstanceGeneration

Method Name: GetActivityGuideInstance

 

Navigation Options tab:

- Using PS-Delivered PTAI_UTILITIES:Utilities App Class

- Method Name: MarkComplete

- Button Label: Mark Complete

- Active - checked

- Message Set, Message Number: 0,0

- Service URL Parameters:

- Parameter Name: OPRID.

- Required: Yes.

- Description: User ID.

- Public Access: Yes.

- Active. Not Fluid.

- Assign Type: Role.

- Assigned To: PeopleSoft User.

 

Nothing informed in Schedule Information.

- Component Name: USERMAINT_SELF.

- Service URL Parameters:

- Parameter Name: OPRID.

- Required: Yes.

- Description: User ID

- Public Access: Yes.

- Active. Not Fluid.

- Assign Type: Role.

- No Template, Fluid Mode, Display on Small Form Factor all checked.

- Portal URL.

5. Added the Tile to Homepage.

6. Test the Activity Guide.
