In General REST Service Operation authentication, try to use single signon code for LDAP integration checking via %Request system variable, but it gave error

ErrorReturn-> 236 - First operand of . is NULL, so cannot access member RemoteAddr. (180,236) FUNCLIB_LDAP.LDAPAUTH.FieldDefault  Name:MY_AUTH  PCPC:43638  Statement:721

Questions:

1. when the REST service connect to PeopleSoft does it not have a "%Request" associated with it the same way the login page does?
2. Is there a way to identify that it's a REST service trying to authenicate?
