Smart Hire Concurrent Job With Future Effective Date Does Not Create New Empl Rcd (Doc ID 2556090.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 26, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Human Resources - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On : 9.2 version, Job / Personal Information

In Customer environment, some student workers are actually being hired into concurrent jobs. When that happens, the campus user will enter a New Hire transaction (Action: Hire, Reason: New Hire) and then turn around and enter another New Hire transaction (Action: Hire, Reason: Add Concurrent Job). Therefore, there will be more than one New Hire transaction on the Manage Hires page. HR will pick the New Hire transaction with the lower Seq# to process first. Once the process is completed, that will create an employment record 0 for that employee. HR will then pick the next New Hire transaction to process that as a concurrent job, resulting another employment record number.
After applying HCM 9.2 Image 24, customer is not able to process the future-dated concurrent jobs. Please advise how customer can accomplish this?

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Go to Workforce Administration>Smart HR transactions>Smart HR
  2. Hire a new employee through Manage Hires.
  3. Go back to Workforce Administration>Smart HR transactions>Smart HR and use the same new emplid to hire a concurrent job.
  4. Create New Org instance is showing still as 0 instead of 1 in Manage Hires which is incorrect.
