E-SEC: Granting Access to App Designer in Permission List May Also Grant Too Much Access (Doc ID 2568862.1)

Last updated on JULY 21, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.57 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Removing App Designer Access does not remove object access from Permission list.

When a user is granted limited access to App Designer through a permission list, they end up with full access instead of partial access.

There is another permission list granted to this user that provides full access to all App Designer objects (in Tools Permissions and Miscellaneous Permissions), but the access to App Designer is turned off and should therefore not affect the user.

In a permission list under the PeopleTools tab, if the checkbox 'Application Designer Access' is unchecked, all the objects related to this are still enabled.
