EAM9.2: Run Masss Transaction (MTMTOOL) Process for Transactons TRF, BKS, RCT Creates Orphaned Cost Rows When Business Unit Mismatch on Run Control Page Occurs (Doc ID 2576342.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 13, 2019

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Asset Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In Run Mass Transaction Manager (MTMTOOL) process, for Transaction = TRF Full Asset Transfer, if this is meant for intraunit transfer, why is Business Unit field is active in User Defined Values section and allows any value to be entered,
therefore, mistakes can happen?   While this tool is for mass process and not for a casual users, a mistake can completely corrupt the Asset Management (AM) tables i.e
create orphaned rows for non-specified business units
or only create half the rows on an asset) if a data entry mistake occurs.  Is this a bug?

Replication steps
1.  Navigate to Asset Management > Asset Transactions > Mass Transactions > Run Mass Transactions
2.  Select Transaction Type = TRF Full Asset Transfer.
3.  Under 'Selection Criteria' section enter the 'TO' Business Unit, while in 'User Entered Values' section, enter the 'FROM' Business Unit.
System accepted different Business Units in 'Selection Criteria' and 'User Entered Values' sections, when this transaction type is meant for intraunit transfer.

Note:  Same applies to Transactions BKS - Asset Book Change and RCT - Recategorization.

Replication document attached.
