E-BIP: French BI Publisher Reports Incorrect Format Number Fields (Doc ID 2580303.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 26, 2019

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.56 to 8.57 [Release 8.4]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : PeopleTools 8.56 PeopleSoft 9.2 version, Invoices, Statements, and Dunning BI Publisher Reports

When the statement is run in French Canadian language the decimal character is printed instead of a comma. For example the Amount is displayed as 2,300.33 instead of the expected 2,300,33.

Prior to PeopleTools 8.56 and PeopleSoft 9.1 the BI Publisher report was showing amount as 2,300,33. This is the expected behavior.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1: Setup language as CFR (French Canadian) for correspondence option of a customer.
2. Run statement in receivable with the customer.
3. Go to collection workbench and check statement pdf file.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, BI Reports in French do not display correct number separator in numeric fields.

On PeopleTools 8.56 the manner in which personalizations are applied to BI Publisher reports were enhanced. BI Publisher now allows user personalizations by individual user to be applied to a Report automatically (i.e. Date, Time, DateTime, and Number formats). In previous PeopleTools releases number formatting was always driven purely by the Language Code. Beginning with PeopleTools 8.56 this was made an option for BI Publisher reports run in the browser.
