After Submitting Component 2 EEO-1 Compensation Data to EEOC, ZIP Code Error Returned

An issue was encountered regarding zip code data when trying to upload the EEO-1 compensation file to the EEOC. The PeopleSoft program populated 9 characters of the postal code to the file. The error received indicates that the postal code can only contain a maximum of 5 characters.
Error message returned by EEOC Data File Upload-
The line is missing a ZIP code or the listed ZIP code is invalid. It must be a valid 5 digit ZIP code for that location.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Generate compensation data file within PeopleSoft
2. Submit generated file through EEOC file upload portal
3. File rejected due to zip code length
