INAS Calculated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) Incorrect After Applying 2020-2021 Aid Year Updates (Doc ID 2595960.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 25, 2019

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

This issue is seen after applying Campus Solutions 9.2 Patch 29298820 - 2020 - 2021 AID YEAR UPDATES FOR ISIR or Campus Solutions 9.0 2020-2021 AID YEAR UPDATES FOR INAS INSTITUTIONAL METHODOLOGY (IM)

After INAS is invoked by any method for loaded 2020 - 2021 ISIRs, there is a discrepancy between the INAS EFC and what the Central Processing Systems (CPS) is calculating.

The issue does not affect all records, just some. The common factor seems to be students who should qualify for either the Auto Zero EFC or Simplified Needs test, where the 1040 was filed but Schedule 1 was not, and in these cases INAS is calculating based on the full needs test instead.
