EAM: Disposal Worksheet Will Not Accept Zero Quantity Assets (Doc ID 2619343.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 12, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Asset Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When retiring assets with quantity zero via the Disposal Worksheet,  the following message is returned: 'Retirement quantity cannot exceed Quantity'. Yet, the zero quantity assets can be retired via Retire/Reinstate Asset component. The customer has many assets with quantity zero of which to dispose.

The Disposal Worksheet should dispose of assets with a quantity of zero just as does the Retire/Reinstate Asset page.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create an asset via the Express or Basic Add page. Set the cost to a non-zero amount and the quantity to zero.
2. Depreciate the Asset.
3. Attempt to dispose of it on the Disposal Worksheet.
4. Customer receives the 'Retirement quantity cannot exceed Quantity' error message.

See the Replication Steps.
