Symptoms

Using Change Assistant to apply a Change Package an unexpected error 'ORA-00001: unique constraint violation' occurs during the Move to Production when running Application Engine GP_PKG_ADSMR_AUS - Step - Merge GP Rule - GP Australia External.

Customer wonders what needs to be done to avoid the error.

ERROR


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Connect to Change Assistant, define a Change Package, create the Change Package, create a CA Job to apply the Change Package, run the CA Job.
2. When the step for the specific Application Engine occurs it goes to error with ORA-00001: unique constraint (SYSADM.PS_GP_ELM_DFN_SOVR) violated
