ITEM_EFFECTIVE_DT Entered On Group Post or Post Student Transaction Page on Credit Item Types May Not Be Posted in ITEM_LINE_SF (Doc ID 2639185.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 26, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Student Financials - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Payments taken at an external source are posted to student accounts using Group Post.  The ITEM_EFFECTIVE_DT in the GROUP_LINE reflects the actual date the student made the payment at the external source.  The ITEM_EFFECTIVE_DT may not be the same date the Group Post data is created or posted to the student account.

The GROUP_LINE ITEM_EFFECTIVE_DT may not always be posted to the resulting ITEM_LINE_SF.ITEM_EFFECTIVE_DT.  Most items posted will show the entered ITEM_EFFECTIVE_DT, but occasionally the the resulting ITEM_LINE_SF row will contain the posting date in ITEM_EFFECTIVE_DT.

The same behaviour occurs if the Item Effective Date on the Student Financials, Charges and Payments, Post Student Transaction is overridden.
