EMM: Problem Group Lookup When Creating A Task Template Not Returning All Relevant Results (Doc ID 2649979.1)

Last updated on JUNE 17, 2022

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When searching on a work order task template using Problem Group, Problem Code, Cause Code, and Resolution Code, it appears that only Problem Group is utilized as a parameter in the search. All work order task templates related to Problem Group are returned even though they may not meet all criteria entered.

All criteria should be met when searching on a work order task template using Problem Group, Problem Code, Cause Code, and Resolution Code.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create two Work Order Task Templates for an asset type, subtype, manufacturer and model, with the same Problem Group and Resolution Code, but with different Problem Codes.
2. Open a new Work Order and select an asset of Type Fleet and Subtype AUTO. Save the Work Order.
3. Go to the Requirements tab, expand the Information area and click on Task Templates.
4. Enter the search criteria Problem Group, Problem Code, Cause Code, and Resolution Code.
5. Notice that both of the Task Templates are returned even though only one of them meets all criteria. It appears that Problem Code, Cause Code and Resolution Code are ignored in the search and only Problem Group is utilized as a parameter.
