E-CRM: Using Saved Search While Using 'IN' Operator With Too Many Field Values Causes Error (Doc ID 2658359.1)

Users are receiving an error when applying a saved search using the IN clause and provider group field. The full saved search criteria is also not being saved/applied.

“One or more values in the list Benefits Administration 11, Benefits Admin10, Benefits Admin9, Benefits Admin8, Benefits Admin7, Benefits Admin6, Benefits Admin5, Benefits Admin4, Benefits Admin3, Benefits Administration, Case Escalation, Human Resources, IT Asset Group, Genera is not correct for Provider Group. (17833,1398)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Navigate to: Helpdesk > Search Cases.
  2. On the Provider Group field, use "IN" search operator and select more values than the field can hold. You will know the field has reached it's max when the last Provider Group is cut off at the end. Do not search yet.
  3. Select the option to save the search criteria and give it a name that you will remember. SAVE.
  4. Close the page and reopen it. Select the saved search. Error occurs, as shown above.


 The issue is caused due to the field values going passed the maximum field length for the field when the search is saved.  When the search is saved, there should be an error, but there currently isn't. So the user things they can use the saved search later. Instead, an error should be thrown if the field length has been compromised.
