The Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) system will be ready to begin accepting records for aid year 2021 on 4/26/2020. These records must be reported with the new 2020 CIP Code values. However, the National Student Loan Clearinghouse (NSC) has stated they will not be ready to begin accepting the new 2020 CIP Codes on 4/26.
Because of the NSC requirement, schools' registrars offices - who typically own the CIP Codes and the related academic plan setup - may be reluctant to proceed with updating to the new codes.
For schools that need to run both processes, is there a recommended approach for handling this seemingly inherent conflict?
