EMM: Assigning Problem Group To a New Work Order Task Template (Doc ID 2669105.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Maintenance Management - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a problem group is created, asset applicability is defined. This includes Asset Type, Asset Subtype, and if desired, Manufacturer ID and Model. When assigning a problem group to a Work Order Task Template upon initial creation of the task, the prompt on problem group does not display all problem groups that match asset applicability. To see all applicable problem groups, it is necessary to exit to the menu, re-enter the Work Order Task Template page, and prompt on problem group again.

All applicable problem groups should be displayed for assignment when creating a new task template.

This issue can be verified by performing the following steps:

1) Define Problem.
2) Define Cause.
3) Define Resolution.
4) Define Problem Group.
5) Set the Asset Classification tab.
6) Create a Task Template and select the Asset Classification created in step 5.
7) Expand Auto Assignment – PM Default section. Lookup a Problem Group. Notice that the Group just created does not show up even though it matches perfectly.
8) Save the new Task Template and exit. Now reopen the Task Template from the menu and perform the same lookup for Problem Group. Notice that now all matching Problem Groups appear.

See Replication Steps.
