Case Solution Text Search Produces Integration Gateway External System Contact Error

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When attempting to do solution text search on a case, the processing icon kept on spinning and eventually returns the following error.
Integration Gateway External System Contact Error (158, 10721).
Steps to reproduce the issue:
- Open existing case
- Go to Solutions tab
- Put in keywords/text in Solution Text
- Click Search
