E-AD/CI/FL: Dragging/Dropping Component Interface (CI) or File Layout Definition Into a PeopleCode Editor Fails to Generate the PeopleCode Template in PeopleTools 8.58 (Doc ID 2675094.1)

Last updated on MAY 17, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.58 to 8.58 [Release 8.4]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

After upgrading to PeopleTools 8.58.03, dragging and dropping a Component Interface (CI) object, or a File Layout object into the PeopleCode editor in Application Designer does not generate the CI (or File Layout) PeopleCode template.  Instead, text with the name of the object name appears in the PeopleCode editor.

The issue can be reproduced using the following steps:

1. Open Application Designer.

2. Open a CI such as STATE,, or in the case of File Layout, open a File Layout definition, and add it to an Application Designer Project (press F7 key).

3. Open a PeopleCode editor. For example, open AEMINITEST Application Engine program's PeopleCode action.

4. Drag/drop the CI (or File Layout definition) from the Project section into the PeopleCode window, and observe that the PeopleCode template is not generated.
