Direct Loan Item Type Fails Authorization with Message 50 - 'Funds for this Disbursement Have not Been Recorded in the System' (Doc ID 2681622.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to authorize a Direct Loan (DL) Item Type, authorization fails with the message "Funds for this Disbursement Have not Been Recorded in the System", as displayed within the 'Message' link on the Disburse Aid page. 

As the student has seemingly met all of the requirements to allow the loan to disburse, the expected result is for the item type to pass authorization.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Disbursement > Disburse Aid > Disburse Aid for the student, aid year, and term.
  2. Scroll to the row for the DL Item Type.
  3. Click 'Authorization' button, and note Authorized amount remains 0.00 and a 'Messages' link appears.
  4. Click 'Messages' link and observe the "Funds for this Disbursement Have not Been Recorded in the System" message.
