E-PORTAL: "Error getting content" on Remote Content Pagelets in a Portal Single Signon (SSO) Load Balanced Cluster (Doc ID 2682793.1)

Symptoms

Content provider pagelets on Interaction Hub(PIH) homepage shows the following error if one of the content provider's web server was restarted.

"Error Getting Content"

This happens in a Single Signon cluster(PIH, HCM, and ELM) with a load balancer (multiple Application and Web Servers).  Issue only occurs when the Web Server for the Content Provider is restarted, and then the users connect to the restarted content provider's web server.

The issue can be replicated as follows:

  1. Restart one of the remote/HCM web servers
  2. Login into PIH
  3. PIH homepage which has content provide pagelets shows "Error getting content"

Errors seen in PIA_servlets.xlogs.x:

SEVERE psft.pt8.psp logError Error for User: TESTING_USER Error Message: Unable to signon to server.: Please contact your System Administrator.
