E-AD/E-PC: In the PeopleCode Editor, the 'Find' and 'Replace' Functionality Pull the Whole String rather than the Selected Text. (Doc ID 2683133.1)

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.58 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In the PeopleCode Editor, when using the 'Find...' or 'Replace...' features in Application Designer, after marking a text, instead of the selected text, in the 'Find What' field, Application Designer pulls the whole string.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Note: Using Component PeopleCode USERMAINT.GBL.SavePreChange as an example. Issue happens with any PeopleCode

1. In Application Designer, open Component PeopleCode USERMAINT.GBL.SavePreChange.
2. In the PeopleCode, double-click on FUNCLIB_PTSEC, in the 2nd line, where it reads FUNCLIB_PTSEC.FUNCTION_FIELD FieldFormula.
3. Right click on the selected area (FUNCLIB_PTSEC) and select 'Find...' or 'Replace...'.
4. Note that, the moment you right-click, the selected area (FUNCLIB_PTSEC) loses the context.
The 'Find What' field is populated with the whole string (FUNCLIB_PTSEC.FUNCTION_FIELD), rather than just the selected text.
