Goal
According to PeopleBooks there are two ways to close a commitment control budget, either manually via an online page or automatically via the cobol FSPYCLOS Budget Close process as detailed in the PeopleBooks chapter, "Understanding Commitment Control Budget Closing and Withdrawal Without Closing".
However one customer reported that after closing manually via an online page that customer was still able to budget check both budget journals and source transactions against the budget definition that was closed manually. This then contradicts the below excerpt from the above PeopleBooks chapter :
"In contrast to the budget close status, you can set the budget status manually on the Budget Definitions - Control Options page, the Budget Definitions - Budget Period Status page, the Budget Definitions - Control ChartField page, or the Budget Attributes page. When you set the budget status manually to Closed, you freeze the budget, allowing no transactions to be processed against the budget unless you set the status of the budget back to unclosed."
Customer has requested detailed steps for closing the budget manually and successfully preventing any further budget checking against the manually closed budget definition.
